On 07 September, the project partners of the project met for the final event in Murska Sobota, Slovenia. In addition to the Aufbauwerk, the host and the city of Leipzig, partners from Spain, Italy and Poland participated in the hybrid organized event.
The results of the last 5 project years on sustainable issues were reviewed and input lectures from experts from Slovenia explained aspects of sustainable mobility in the host region. In the afternoon the project partners took the opportunity to explore Murska Sobota with e-scooters and to experience sustainable mobility directly. They also visited the Expano Pavilion and an exhibition on the Pomurje region on the outskirts of the city. Later, the project partners also tested local food and drinks.
The main objective of the DEMO-EC project is to introduce mobility management into urban development and planning through: Analysis, exchange and dissemination of best practices. The project was extended in the Corona crisis with a new focus until the end of 2022. During the extension, the project theme of urban mobility will be considered under the influence of the Corona crisis.
