Project

Mobility in European cities and suburbs faces significant challenges, particularly in underserved areas confronted with limited digital connectivity, transport infrastructure, and services. These limitations can have substantial social and economic impacts on communities by restricting travel horizons and hindering access to opportunities such as employment, education, and social activities. There is an urgent need to take measures to address mobility challenges and promote seamless, intelligent, and climate-resilient regional and local intermodal mobility.

EMBRACER (running from 03/2023 to 02/2027) focuses on improving mobility by integrating public transport with informal modes of transport (cycling, ride-hailing, car/bike/scooter sharing, on-demand transport, autonomous shuttles). EMBRACER aims to enhance the connection with urban areas and achieve seamless mobility. This is accomplished through a structured cooperation process that promotes a multi-stakeholder co-creation approach to identify innovative intermodal mobility solutions.

EMBRACER’s innovative approach aims to improve regional policy by raising awareness that a sufficient geographical distribution of transport modes is a prerequisite for addressing mobility challenges and thereby mitigating climate change.
